I can give you other reasons, but don't you think this is enough. Just like Pat DeWine and his affair, conservative Republicans are juicy targets due to their quick and easy dispensation of moral outrage on issues of "family" and morality.

You know - kind of like when Phil Burress want to protect marriage when he's been married three times. That kind of stuff.

Let Allen fry in the spotlight of the media.

Everything I've read and heard indicates that the affair was consensual. So why a lawsuit?

I think it kind of opens him up to future allegations of favortisim; questions his future integrity on cases that may involve his mistress's family or herself, etc.

It's the same with the KGB & CIA. Haven't you heard of the "honeypot" trap. Get an agent with his pants down and you own him.

Get a prosecutor with his pants down and if you're vindictive enough, you can pull his chain quite a bit.

It just compromises the integrity of the office.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'm sure that will be debated in court. But thanks to Mr. Mike "Morality" Allen, our good tax dollars will be used to defend him and the county in court.

And like Jumper said, the relationship might have been consensual, but it leaves Mr. Allen open for all sorts of other workplace allegations.

When Mr. Allen said he "made a mistake," he wasn't kidding. A 3.5 year mistake. One that we'll all have to pay for.

I'm spitting mad at that asshole.

OK, help me out here, reason.

The woman had a three and a half year affair with Mr. Allen. It ended a year ago. Why decide now to file a harrassment suit? Statute of limitations?

    I just don't get it.

Do men sometimes abuse their positions for sexual favors? Yep.

However, in today's climate, I just don't believe there's a woman (or man) in this country who wouldn't immediately turn her (his) boss in.

If it was sexual harrassment, I agree with you. If it was an affair, it's really none of our business.

We don't know the circumstance yet, so I don't think I'm at liberty to speculate.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">When it becomes a lawsuit against the county, it becomes our business. That is why Allen came forward with the information: the lawsuit.

But that's what I'm saying, reason.

If Mike Allen abused his position, why wait 4 1/2 years?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I don't know! But Mike Allen should have known better! Talk about stupid. He left himself and the taxpayers of this county wide open!

Stop blaming the woman, gae! STOP BLAMING THE WOMAN!
